Thank You Conference Attendees and Sea Lice Community

20. Jul 2022

On behalf of the Sea Lice Conference International, we want to thank you for taking part and subscribing to the sea lice research community. We would also like to extend our gratitude to those who attended the 13th Conference, in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, on May 9-13, 2022, at The Nordic House Conference Center.
We hope that you found the conference informative and worthwhile. The primary goal of this conference was to bring together renowned researchers, authorities and the industry within the realm of the Aquaculture industry, Universities and supporting research facilities. With the participation of leading international researchers, regulatory agencies, and groups, this all enabled the communication and universalization of the science behind this topic. Facilitating scientific and practical advancements of the key factors related to sea lice in both farmed and wild settings. This, in order to share and talk about the issues facing us all, in an open dialogue, under one roof to develop possible strategies as to how to raise more awareness and more engagement in initiatives taking place in aquaculture.
We believe that our diverse and dynamic group of speakers and panelists provided in-depth insight, as well as, actionable and practical tools of engagement models and methods that have worked in other countries.
Your presence helped make this event a great success and your enthusiasm and positive spirit helped make our time together both productive and fun. We wish you all the best and hope that you continue to be engaged with the Sea Lice Conference in the future.

Post-Conference Follow-Up

We have these past few weeks been working on uploading most of the presentations online, to Fiskaalings YouTube channel, in order to better document and get a glimpse of some of the research made within the sea lice research community. We hope this effort will be useful to you in your future discoveries, and serve as an effort to boost communication, and share new information between us all.

Therefore, we would like to invite you to follow this link, to Fiskaalings YouTube channel, presenting to you a recap of some of our talented researchers, panelists and speakers of the 13th Sea Lice Conference International 2022. Speaking on the subject Living conditions in the future Northeastern Atlantic under climate change, Mr. Bogi Hansen will present a unique perspective and insight into the climate change issue, which most certainly is relevant for all ocean life and the environment at large, too.

He received his PhD in Physical Ocanography from the University of Copenhagen in 1977. Since 1982 he has worked at the Faroe Marine REsearch Institute where he is actively engaged in research and led the environmental department for many years.

During his career, Dr. Hansen has also contributed to international committees and working groups, focused on climate impact. His publications are well known and hes lectures and presentations are always in high demand.

All presentations have now been organized in a tightly set program for the Sea Lice Conference. Participants at the conference will listen to and engage with the world’s leading sea lice researchers and experts.

Clearly, many very good abstracts were submitted for the conference. And after nearly four years since the last Sea Lice Conference, we made efforts to fit in as many as possible. Participants will be somewhat tested, but we believe this will be balanced with all the highly qualified and exciting content.

In addition to the presentations, we have built in time and opportunities for discussions and reflections. Also, the entire conference environment and set-up is designed to inspire and engage all conference participants.

Remember, if you want to be part of the world’s largest and most professionally qualified Sea Lice forum, the 13th Sea Lice International Conference is the place to be.

Registrations are still open here on the Sea Lice website.
